Book Worms

Book Worms

Currently, there are 6 members but we would welcome 1/2 more. We generally order books through Ash Library which costs £3.25 for each set. One member pays each month.

We meet on the last Thursday of each month in a member’s house. The next meeting is as follows:

  • We are NOT meeting on Thursday 29th August because the Registration Day/AGM is on that day.
  • Thursday 26th September at 10 a.m.

We have read the following books:

  • Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine by Gail Honeyman
  • The Flanders Panel by Arturo Perez Reverte
  • The Associate by John Grisham
  • My Name is Leon by Kit de Waal
  • Crooked Heart by Lissa Evans
  • A Man called Ove by Fredrik Backman
  • The Cupid Effect by Dorothy Koomson
  • Bloodstream by Tess Gerritsen

We have mostly enjoyed all the books so far; giving them fairly high scores out of 10. We all agree that since joining the group we are reading more and experiencing new authors that we would perhaps not otherwise have looked at.

For September we will read To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee.      Later in the year we may choose from the following:

  • Room by Emma Donoghue
  • Case Histories by Kate Atkinson
  • My Judy Garland Life by Susie Boyt
  • One of Andrea Levy’s novels
  • One of Jodi Picoult’s novels
  • The Help by Kathryn Stockett
  • OR ANYTHING ELSE THAT A NEW MEMBER MAY SUGGEST IF YOU JOIN US.

Please contact Sally Barnard for details about venue for the next meeting.  01252 326074 Email groups@ashu3a.org.uk
