Garden Visits

Do you like gardening, enjoy visiting gardens, or just fancy a day out?
Garden Visits are on the last Friday of each month, from February to November.The first and last visit of the year is normally at a garden centre.
Meeting at the carpark opposite Victoria Hall, Ash at 10.am.
We encourage lift sharing – and attempt to accommodate those who aren’t able to drive themselves, where possible.If you are able to offer lifts, please let us know – as we do rely on volunteers.
Our group members try to share discounts – eg BBC Gardener’s World 2 for 1, RHS member/guest etc if we can.

Open Garden for NGS

This garden is packed with almost 2000 plants. The collection of over 1300 hosta cultivars is one of the largest in England. Hostas are displayed at eye level to give a wonderful tapestry of foliage and colour. Islamic garden, waterfall and stream garden, cottage garden. Talks given to garden clubs

They only open to public for one week. The Journey is about 20 minutes from here.

We will be leaving at 9.30  for  this visit,  as there are only two booking in day, I have booked 10.00am one.

Chawton House is a Grade II* listed Elizabethan manor house in Hampshire. It is run as a historic property and also houses the research library of The Centre for the Study of Early Women's Writing, 1600–1830, using the building's connection with the English novelist Jane Austen

Chawton House is an Elizabethan manor house that once belonged to Jane Austen's brother, Edward.

The Old Kitchen Tearoom 

Open daily, 10am to 4pm. Last orders are at 3.30pm.

Seating is on a first come, first serve basis with table service in operation. Indoor diners are restricted to groups of 6 but for larger groups we have additional seating in our Courtyard. Last orders at 3.30pm.
