Healthy Walking Programme – January to April 2018

January 1st – No walk – Bank Holiday

January 15th – Pam & David Dickens – St John’s WokingDirections into St. John’s Village, car park over canal bridge on right.
The walk is predominantly flat and bit muddy. There is a coffee shop ( bem coffee) opposite the car park if anybody is wanting lunch.
I have spoken to them and they are happy to take a block booking and reserve tables , if anybody is interested please e mail me and I will arrange. daviddickens@hotmail.co.uk

January 29th –  Reg Phillips – Puttenham CommonFrom the centre of Puttenham village take the road opposite the Good Intent pub towards Elstead and Cutmill (Suffield Lane).  Puttenham Middle Car Park is on the right after 2 miles.  (Ignore the Puttenham Common Top Car Park on the right after 1 ½ miles).

February 12th –  Ron Jarmain – A walk across Bullswater Common to Fox Corner nature reserve and back. Park in Pirbright car park.                    Ref. OS 145. 560-947. Mostly gravel path but muddy in places.

February 26th – Jim Forsyth Odiham and North Warnborough – Meet in the Basingstoke Canal car park, off the London Road. Either take M3( junction 5),  A287 or via Farnham/Aldershot A325, A287. London road is off of the high street (on the left from M3 direction) or on the right from the A287 direction. London road leads into colt Hill, cross the canal bridge and the car park is on your right.

Walk is flat with a couple of muddy patches.

March 12th – Paula Remnant & Anne HillFleet PondFrom Farnborough Clockhouse roundabout take the B3014 for Cove/Fleet. At roundabout for the A327 & M3 2nd exit under the bridge and left onto the A3013 towards Fleet. Continue on this road, then take a left turn signed Fleet Pond (brown) over the railway bridge. Turn immediately right to car park about 500 metres on left. Track is rough and has pot holes (so bring the second-best car). You can recover from this ordeal with a gentle meander round Fleet pond.

March 26th – Val, Helen & GillHankley Common . Take the Thursley Road from Elstead for 2.1 miles. Go past the Moat car park on the left, then soon after the tree house on the right take a right turn which is on a bend in the main road. Follow the track for 0.4 of a mile and the car park is on the left.

April 9th – Jim ForsythThe Sheepleas – Meet Shere Road Car Park West Horsley KT24 6EP
A3 to Ripley turn off B2215 right at round about A247, after 2.5 m left onto Epson Road A246 for 2.3m at round about take 3rd exit Shere road, car park is on the left after 0.7m

April 23rd – Helen CurtisWinchfield – This walk will commence in the car park beside the Basingstoke Canal adjacent to the Barley Mow, Winchfield, RG27 8DE.

The BarleyMow Tel: 01252 617490 serve lunch from 12 noon till 3pm. If for more than a table for 4 then it’s best to book.
