Bringing People Together

A December Lunch

What a lovely way to celebrate our final meeting of 2025 with a special Christmas lunch at the Fox and Hounds in Church Crookham where twenty eight members had a very enjoyable festive meal. The food was lovely and the service as good as ever at probably our favourite venue. Nathan and his team looked after us very well and we shall certainly be returning in 2026.

With a group membership of 39, I was concerned that the Christmas lunch would be over-subscribed but the Fox and Hounds were able to accommodate all who wanted to attend. As always there were members who couldn’t make it and we hope to see them at some stage in 2026.

Ali and I were thrilled with the gifts you so kindly and generously gave us and Sue was delighted with the poinsettia.

I would like to say a special thank you to those who provide lifts for members unable to drive. It really does mean a lot to them especially at this time of year.

As mentioned in last month’s newsletter we really do need at least one more member to join the Organising Team to ensure that the Group remains viable as we go into 2026 and beyond.

Ali will be organising January’s lunch at the Crown and Cushion. She will also be doing February’s meeting as I will be in Cheltenham being looked after by my grandchildren whilst Sue is in India with our daughter Jane.

It has been a difficult year for some of our members who have sadly lost loved ones so I hope that Christmas and the New Year will not be too sad but have happy memories.

I wish you and all your families a peaceful Christmas and a happy New Year.
