Beautiful Autumn walk
The Ambling group seems to be really lucky with the weather. Viv was leading the group and Chris L was with us in spirit although she couldn’t lead today. 32 of us were back at Brookwood Military Cemetery on a much more pleasant day compared with the summer walk.
First stop was at a memorial that recognised the achievements of Violette Szabo who was an SOE agent during WW2 – executed, aged 23, in Ravensbruck Concentration Camp in Germany.

Amongst other stops we saw the mass graves of 2 air accidents and the grave of one of the Rupert Bear illustrators, Alfred Bestell.
Drinks and Cake (or something more?) afterwards at the Cricketers on the Green.
