Deception by Lesley Pearse

In April Bookworms met at Michelle’s house and took advantage of the sunshine.
The book was Deception by Lesley Pearse.
This book was not widely appreciated. The views of the group – for the first time in a while did not differ. Some of the group struggled to engage with the story and found it difficult to finish, or read it quickly due to lack of depth. Others found it formulaic, lacking fully rounded characters that were dull and unrealistic with no humour. One of the comments deemed it not even worthy of holiday reading.
Some of our group had read other books by the same author, and could not recall finding them that poor, so perhaps our appreciation of good literature has increased with our time with the group.
Next month’s book is Em and Me by Beth Morrey
