Help Using Beacon and PayPal
The Ash u3a preferred way of paying for membership is via the online u3a Beacon system. Using this means you are automatically entered on the u3a Beacon Membership system and the Membership Secretary does not have to enter your details manually. This reduces the risk of an error occurring.
Beacon uses PayPal and you can pay by debit card, credit card or a Pay Pal account if you have one. You do not need to sign up for Pay Pal – You can use the “guest” facility.
You will be linked to the Pay Pal site but by following these selections to choose debit or credit card you can by-pass Pay Pal.
When you reach the payment section and you would like to pay by debit or credit card please:
- Select “Pay by Debit or Credit Card”.
- Ensure the option to create a PayPal account is NOT selected.
- Select “Pay now as guest”.
When you have paid you will receive an email acknowledgment from PayPal.
