Bringing People Together

Photography Group April Meeting

Sixteen members attended our eighth Photography Group meeting of the 2025–2026 session, held on Friday 10th April. We reviewed members’ submissions for the theme “Doors and Windows” led by Paul. In total, 67 photographs were submitted by 23 members. The images showed a great variety of doors and windows from around the world—some very old, others more modern. There were beautiful stained glass windows, simple boxed designs, and doors ranging from plain to highly decorative and intricately carved.
A few different interpretations of the theme included a burnt-out car with its windows missing, a primitive desert ‘rest stop’ and the concept of ‘Windows 11’. Here are some of the photos we looked at.

After the tea break we watched a video titled “How to Become a Better Photographer”. It highlighted that photography isn’t just about having the best equipment, but about how we see the world around us and how we use light. The theme for May is “One Subject- three perspectives”.
