Photography Group November Meeting
We had a good attendance of 23 members for our third Photography Group meeting of the 2025-2026 session on Friday 14th November. We reviewed members’ submissions for the October monthly theme of “Scrap/Junk”. There were 54 photos submitted from 19 members. Several pictures featured local fly tipping but there were also more uplifting images of art installations made out of junk items.

After the break we conducted a trial session on image commentary. The idea was for members to offer photos for constructive commentary by their peers at the meeting. We covered cropping, use of rotation to correct horizontal lines and whether B&W or colour was best. We also touched on the use of “cloning” to remove distracting objects in the composition (e.g. wires/reflections).
The trial proved to be a success and the commentary sessions will be repeated once per term.
