We are pleased to announce that a new Photography Group will start in September starting on Friday 13th September 2019.

The meetings will follow a similar format to those successfully run by Glyn Morgan for many years, initially within the U3A and more recently independently.

The monthly photo subject, with members submitting up to three photos, will be a major feature where the emphasis will be on the story behind the picture rather than its technical excellence.

We recognise that more and more people are using smart phones and tablets to take photos but then are at a loss as to how to edit, store, print or share them, so we will try and explore and explain many of the possibilities and some of the techniques.

Without Glyn’s technical knowledge we will look towards covering technical topics using videos and internet download with some real live demonstrations and hopefully some visiting speakers

The revival of the Photography Group has only been possible by U3A members coming together and collectively organising and running the Group.

For those people who sign up, we will be asking you to submit up to three photos (in any format) that illustrate your photographic subject interests, Also at the first meeting on Friday 13th September we will agree the monthly photo subjects for October, November and December and agree the programme of technical topics.

If you are interested please download the below “expression of Interest” form and bring it along to the AGM. If you are unable to make the AGM please give it to any member of the committee

The form is designed to establish your main interest. If you have difficulty in understanding or completing it we can help you on 29th August. Our registration day at the Ash Centre at 2 pm.
