    • Rowhill Nature Reserve

    The rain gods smiled upon the Ambling group on their first walk of February and kept it dry in between the many rainy days.

    35 amblers gathered at the excellent Rowhill Nature Reserve – a hidden gem to the west of Aldershot. We were met by Jackie who took us on a tour of the reserve recounting many stories of the people who shaped the woodlands and continue to do so. An on our return we partook of tea and cake in the information centre where a range of jams, preserves, marmalades, books, games and puzzles were available for purchase.

    But before the pictures… They have this clever bit of technology where the guide has a microphone and a colleague has a Bluetooth speaker so those at the back can hear.

    The tour continues to the Surrey and Hampshire border to hear about the origins of the reserve.

    A welcome rest for all. And very good value for money.
