Thursday Lunchers

We are a friendly and very sociable group that meets monthly at a local venue to enjoy a lunchtime meal with friends. In addition to enjoying a variety of menus at a range of pubs, restaurants, cafes and clubs we love the opportunity to relax and chat to fellow u3a members.

Venues are selected based on our members’ requirements for cost, distance from Ash and type of menu. All venues are checked in advance to ensure that they offer suitable seating arrangements, nice food and good service in a clean and pleasant environment with good car parking and accessible facilities.

We currently do not have a waiting list but as it is a very popular group we keep this under review to ensure that the numbers attending can comfortably be accommodated and looked after.

We understand that members may have very different eating habits and so we ensure that they can choose from one, two or three courses or select “small meal” options. All venues are made aware of any members’ special dietary requirements or allergies.

We have planned an interesting programme for the 2025-2026 year, visiting some new establishments as well as revisiting old favourites. We always welcome members’ suggestions/recommendations for new venues. New members are very welcome and if you are on your own, what a nice way to meet similar minded people and make new friends.

We usually meet on the third Thursday of each month although we are planning additional meetings periodically at venues specialising in non-British cuisine.
