Mark tells the story of how he traced the ancestry of a former schoolmate, knowing no more about him than his name and approximate date of birth. Mark traced his male line back six generations to a baptism in 1770 and demonstrates the use of FreeBMD, the UK Censuses, the 1939 Register, the GRO Online Index and parish records via FamilySearch.
