The walk is mainly on footpaths through wooded areas and open countryside with a short spell of river towpath. There are a couple of short steep inclines on the route.
Getting there: From the A31 Hogs Back (Guildford direction) take the B3000 slip road through Puttenham and then into Compton. Proceed through the village and there is a road on the left hand side sign posted The Withies. take that turning and parking is in the lane opposite the pub.
