A Glorious Name: how the roads, barracks and buildings of military Aldershot got their names
The names of the roads and buildings of Aldershot Military Town are a roll-call of British military history and of the history of Aldershot Camp itself. But there are puzzles as well, for example why did Hospital Hill not lead to the hospital, and why was Redvers Buller Road nowhere near Buller Barracks? This talk looks at meanings behind the names of the roads, barracks and buildings and how they came to be used in the Aldershot garrison.
