Creative Writing

Creative Writing Group

Creative writing can be a solitary process, so why not come and join us to share your work and hone your writing skills. Receiving constructive feedback from fellow writers can help us improve plot lines or find that special word that makes our poem sing.

It doesn’t matter whether you’re writing a novel, your memoir, non-fiction, poetry, short stories or flash fiction; every genre is welcome. Perhaps you want to enter writing competitions, but aren’t sure if your finished piece is good enough to submit. This group will help boost your confidence and offer encouragement all of the way.

You don’t have to be writing with a view to publication in order to join, but I’ll be offering members the opportunity to have their work published on the U3A website so that they can share it with a larger audience than family and friends.

This group is in its infancy, and although I’m intending that we’ll knuckle under to some serious writing, I’m also hoping we’ll have lots of fun and laughter along the way.

Group activities will include:

Reading our creative writing to the group. You’re welcome to bring along any piece of creative writing you’d like to share with the group.

Offering constructive feedback.
