Bringing People Together

Photography Group May Meeting

Twenty members attended our Photography Group meeting on Friday 8th May. We reviewed members’ submissions for the theme “One Subject – Three Perspectives”. In total, 60 photographs were submitted by 20 members. Several members reported struggling for inspiration to come up with three images for this theme. Luckily, other members delivered – with different angles on Battersea Power Station, a classic E-type Jaguar, the Wellington statue, ferns unfolding, a Fender guitar – and even a MacDonalds Burger joint! Here are a selection of the subjects – but just one perspective!

After the break, we welcomed our first guest speaker of the year, Richard Hesketh, a park ranger from Hengistbury Head. Richard soon engaged us with his enthusiasm and knowledge of the flora and fauna of this unique headland on the Hampshire coast bordering Dorset.

His talk was supported by a selection of photos he had taken on his smartphone during nature walks in the area. Richard took us through the seasons from Summer and Autumn to Winter, reciting poems to enhance the mood – but he did not have time for Spring – so maybe we will have to get him back again to complete his images of the four seasons around Hengistbury Head!
