The UK government has said it plans to change regulations in the second half of 2026 to enable driverless taxis to operate in London.
Bob Ashby led a discussion on whether self-driving cars are a good idea. The conclusion was that sooner or later all cars will have an “auto-pilot” in the same way as aircraft and metro trains do today, and that in the future all road vehicles will be monitored and controlled from traffic control centres.
