Bringing People Together

The Penguin Lessons by Tom Michell

The Penguin Lessons

A delightful book that captured the hearts of many of the bookworms members, it even scored a couple of 10s and rated 8.5 out of 10 on average! Quite a few of us were recommending it to friends and family straight after reading.

It followed a charming character called Juan Salvador, and gave you a great insight into Penguins, but also the ancillary characters were beautifully described. It raised many interesting topics of Argentine history/politics and the difficulties of living in a society with run-away inflation amongst many.

It was super hot, but we did our best to stay cool with more cold water than tea! Special thanks to Sara (Shel’s neighbour) for the delicious carrot cupcakes which deserve a special mention! It’s lovely to meet up and we enjoy the side conversations that arise from discussing the book.
