Abinger Roughs and Wotton Estate

Ramblers

22 Apr 2026

Venue: Abinger Roughs

Time: 10.00 am

Address: White Down Lane, Dorking RH5 6QA (Go to Map)

Organised by: Peter Stratford

The walk will be about 5.5 miles and start from the Abinger Roughs car park near the Wilberforce Memorial. We will do a clockwise loop via Wotton then climb to Friday Street and pass St James Church, Abinger,  before a gentle descent back to the start.

There are a couple of styles and two steepish but short descents that would be slippery in heavy rain but the rewarding views of the North Downs AONB make the mild ascents worth the effort! If there is heavy rain, walking poles might help. We will cross the A25 on the outbound and return trails.

Getting there:-The directions are to take the A25 eastwards through Abinger Hammer and about 1.5km later at the crossroads turn left up the hill on White Down Lane. The car park is on the left after about 600m.
