Please note that there is an Amber Heat health alert in place for Monday . The Met office advises staying out of the sun and avoiding exercise between 11.00am and 3.00pm There is some shade on the walk but not everywhere and we cannot avoid the long inclines. Please carefully consider your own health before joining us. I have considered cancelling the walk altogether.
From B3272 Hawley Road heading away from Farnborough towards Blackwater turn left at the traffic lights by Holy Trinity Church into Fernhill Road . Follow that road to the first bend where turn right to Blackwater and Hawley leisure centre . Turn into centre and take the left hand way through into the large car park behind the cafe.
The walk will be approximately 3.2 miles with a couple of long inclines and they are fairly steep but there are no gates or stiles. Parts of the walk are through the woodland paths with plenty of tree roots to be avoided.
Weather permitting! - Please bring your own chairs and your own picnic lunch - we can put them on the grass in front of the cafe after the walk and get hot drinks and or snacks from the cafe if we want them. We will NOT have tables or gazebos and there is not much shade . Anyone who does not wish to walk is very welcome to join us outside the cafe but there is not much shade there either. If we walk we will probably be there at about 12.15pm.
